Astaar is the organic move from Caboose Media, an agency that I ran with my business partner some years ago. I have an interesting and diverse background which has been gained in engineering, the music industry, television, newspaper publishing and agencies across PR, marketing and digital media. I have used my experience and expertise to then translate this into the public sector and have worked for a number of NHS Trusts.

Astaar develops business. It is a marketing business in the wider sense of the word. My expertise and experience falls within Marketing Communications, Programme and Project Management, Client Services and Operations. Realistically to address marketing these are the skills that you need. I’ve worked for traditional and digital agencies, written proposals, scoped and managed website builds both national and international, managed creative and programming teams, run traditional and digital marketing campaigns and worked with some very talented people – experience across the board.

Marketing is everything that an organization does that links with clients, customers, patients (in the case of the NHS) – the public. Think all types of communication channels, operational processes and customer service that make your business work (or not if you don’t address them well). You need excellent project management skills to make that work. You also need to have a creative streak and you need to be able to see things from a holistic viewpoint – able to visualise the whole picture and how everything works together.

In the past I have worked with many clients, as a taster these include MCA Universal film and music (I worked for MCA Universal), Oxfam, the National Trust, Downtown Radio, Duke of Edinburgh Award, ITV, BBC, Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Cars, Kellogg, National Grid, HFC Bank, the NHS – many NHS Trusts and supported and worked for many start up and SME’s as clients.
